Is UB put into bank or do I have to go to Post Office every week?

After redundancy I signed on for UB last week. Does anyone know if the money (when it eventually comes through) is transferred to my bank account or do I have to go to the Post Office for the first 6 months as I heard of yesterday? Also, will I get something in the post to tell me when my signing dates are or will I not hear back on signing dates until I get my first payment?
    Any advice appreciated. Thanks

They don't do bank transfers for new applicants anymore, possible fraud was the one reason given.

You will be told by your local SW office your date and the local post office. You might get a choice in nominating the post office.

From then on you collect weekly at the PO.
If you are in a rural area, ignore the PO clerk who knows everybody's business and comments on it

And you sign at the local SW office, you'll will be given a date

What about existing UB claimants who are doing Fas course and due to go back on Dole in July? Will they be taken as new applicants and have to collect at PO. I might have to change address as I don't want to have to face the people in our local PO. The one down the village may be a better bet for anonymity.
I hope P.O's in Dublin aren't as bad as the ones down West where everyone wants to know your business and make comments on it.
