parking on saturday?

    Well, so i will be driving up to nuig on saturday for the open day, but i aint got a clue where to park? i only really know the city centre and after that i only have a vague idea of newcastle.. anyway if someone can tell me where is good to park ill pop it into the sat nav and off i go! thanks!:rolleyes:

    You can try parking on campus in the pay & display but they will probably be full quite early - I'd post a link to the pdf with the carparks, except they still have not updated it yet... so here is campus map, the 'gray' zones are the carparks, click on em to see which are the pay & display. I don't know if they have some set-up for visitors for the student day so maybe you should give them a ring to see.

    Otherwise the nearest carparks are the one behind the cathedral (Gaol Road), or the bish car park (Nun's Island) or the carpark beside the garda station (Mill street)

    I'm probably too late answering this but you can park in any of the campus carparks on Saturdays without a permit.

    Head for distillery road which is on the newcastle road, turn at the AIB bank. There are two carparks on the right hand side when you go down distillery road, another if you drive straight on to the back of the main building and others off to the left towards the kingfisher gym. Car parking is usually handy enough on a saturday but with an open day you wouldn't know. anyway my point was that you don't need to worry about the clamping signs or the pay and display at weekends.

    thats grand so i will try get as cse to campus aspossible and see how we go.. but i have a few ideas now from this so i should be good! thanks!
