Just watching the first game of this year's tournament.

Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings. Mumbai currently 40/1. There's been a dog on the pitch holding up play for the past 10 minutes. There's about 20 people trying to catch him and they're hopeless.

hah thats hilarious - just turned on Setanta Ireland there about an hour ago and was shocked to see live IPL action! They switched to the Villa match though when flintoff and hayden were just hitting their straps - must have been a 1.5 innings preview on the free channel. Ill probably buckle and subscribe for the month..

The amount of blatant advertising is the one thing that would stop me from doing it. Its bad enough having adverts every 2 overs, but this 7 and a half minute 'tactical break' (as they are billing it) after 10 overs is an absolute disgrace.

Two two and a half minute breaks with a further two and a half minutes punditry to try and add some sort of legitimacy to it.

I have heard that the Irish umpire who was standing in the tournament last year was repremanded for allowing the game to continue too quickly, thus losing out on ad revenue!

Yeah I don't have Setanta this year, and won't be signing up to it, so I'm hoping they show a few more games on Setanta Ireland.

True story, but wrong tournament mate - that was in the ICL.

Same as, although, when it was on last year, I didn't watch much, and what I bit I did, the commentary was shocking.

This is an interesting read - Apparantly it is a member of the Kolkata Knights who has been revealing info about the team/commentators etc... insider information basically. Players names are fake but quite easy to unlock. Could be fake but who knows! Im hoping its not for the drama :D

Theres a game on Setanta Ireland now for anyone interested. Dehli Daredevils v Chennai Super Kings. De Villiers playing nicely 152-4 after 17.2 overs

Flintoff destroyed by De Villers in that over. De Villers on a century in the 19th over

First IPL game I have watched and it was very exciting. Superkings blew it, lost 9 wickets and only got 75 in the last 10 overs finishing with 180

Warney's Rajasthan Royals just won the first IPL match to go to a super-over after the match ended in a tie.

Gayle led Kolkata to 15 off their over but Yusuf Pathan smashed 18 off 4 balls to win It for Rajasthan. Exciting stuff, I like this idea, although took a while for the 2 overs to be bowled, the 2 sides arsed around for too long sorting out their batters/bowler much like choosing penalty takers in a shootout.

last night, get home from work, start watching Rajasthan and Kolkata.

    Mid innings comes.
Sellotanta cut to a Roy Keane Hero Worship special.

What the hell is the point?
I know that Sellotanta have a massive hard on for Roy Keane, But leaving actual sport coverage for some psychotic runt saying nothing about his new team in a league they hardly even cover?

    Mental.

I guess they'll try anything to try and get people to subscribe to the full range of channels...

Jayasuriya and Tenduklar running riot. 119-0 from 11 overs

Mumbai Indians lost a few wickets including a very embarassing run out 166-5 off 18 overs

does anybody else have a problem with the way sixes are referred to as 'DLF Maximums'!! Thats just taking the piss. Whats next?

    "He's KFC Bowled him"

"A cracking Bank of India cover drive"

"He's guided that one down to Fine Leg, sponsored by mastercard"

Lol, yeah its irritating after a while. They must be paying a fortune to get such exposure.

I'm not sure about this tactical break after 10 overs either, it slows down the game. It does seem to help the bowling side though which is good, don't want the game too much in favour of the bat...

Pietersen gets a Western Union Wicket :) off first ball but has a disastrous 3rd over with 6 extras (1 wide, 5wide) 23-1 Knight Riders

great low scoring game there, very tense at the end. Kings XI punjab beat Mumbai indians by 3 runs, defending 119. Just goes to show you its not all about 180+ Scores!

Grrr. Rajasthan (surprisingly) can't defend 100 and are out. Looked close at one stage.

No win for team Warney this year.

    Go Chennai!

Glad to see Deccan win it. Gilchrist captained them very well. Don't have the biggest names in the tournament either.
