New TV and TV Stand dont like each other

    Not sure if this belongs here but,

    I recently puchased the following items:

    Sony KDL-40W5500
    Serano TS031 TV Stand

    I stupidly purchased/assembled the stand without first checking that it worked with the TV. I wont make that mistake again!

    So, when I attach the 'mounting hooks' to the back of the TV the gap between them is 13mm narrower than the minimum distance needed to hang the TV on the stand.

    Wondering if anyone else hit this kind of issue before and has a workaround or knows someone that could, ahem, 'customize' my stand?
