MAD OZZIE’s Revue of the (MY) new GFC Stg44

Well what can I say, I couldn’t wait to get the STG44, so I ordered one from

    SE Airsoft,
    (cos they got em first)
To start was shipped to me on Thursday and I got it the next day :)
Well when I opened the box I got a lovely surprise! It was a bit heaver than I expected.
Full steel and a real wood stock, weigh’s just over 4kg.

Very solid body (even I shouldn’t break this one) The stock holds a stick type battery.
Chronoed at 306-310fps constant over 10 shots (with .20bbs)
Range is good, ROF is good too, with the 8.4v battery supplied with the STG44, this will up with a 9.6v.
Accuracy is quite good, but the wind was getting the better of me at over 30m.
Very little in the way of rattle from this solid built AEG.
I give the STG44 7/10 (lost 2 points for down side) and I never give 10/10.
    Down side,
With all the hard work that was put into this AEG what happened with the stock and battery compartment? surely a better idea could have been thought up!
You must remove the stock to get the battery in, the battery fits in fine but,
there is a bit of a wobble in the stock where it sleeves over the body, and must watch ya don’t lose the 1 lock pin that holds em together.
    Over all, 7/10
A great WW2 AEG at a great price.
Just have to spend more now on getting the rest of the kit to go with it. :D

I was mighty impressed with it too,:)
it needs a good battering up though doesnt it? the wood looks a little too redish for my liking too, have ya opened the gearbox yet mad ozzie?
I know what ya mean bout the stock, was thinkin the same thing. they can also come loose after handling it a good bit. the one in the IWA had about 5mm sway on it. I might still pick one up myself though. :)

Ill have to attack it with some wet&dry sand paper and darken the timber to give it the old well used look ;)
I haven't had the chance to open it up as yet, hope to some time next week.
(Just for a look and to maybe change a few bits if needed)

Ill give it a skirmish on Sunday and put it through its paces :)

Just put a sound hog on for a bit of oomff. (for now) :D

    Love it.

Ill get a pick up in the next day or 2, (need to borrow a camera)

It has been aged, attacked it with some wet&dry sand paper, sprayed the stock black then sanded it back again (to get rid of the red/orange look)

And I must say ive done a good job of it :)

Skirmished with it today, great job, but a heavy bugger to lug around all day.
    Arms are aching a bit.

It has a V2 gear box in it as far as I know, but it will give it a break down this week,
Ill post the details as soon as its apart, and do a quick revue on the internals.

You've done a fantastic job ageing it - really nicely done and not ott - so many people get carried away with the wet and dry... but this looks absolutely superb. Love the stock job too. Subtle and realistic ;)

Very well taken pic too KageD btw.
