2nd Year Grant Question!

I am hopefully transferring from one arts course to another in September. Although I am nearly finished second year now, I will most likely have to start from second year in the new college in September, so will have to pay the tuition fee for that year.

I will be moving away from home, from Cork to Dublin and away from the family home (i.e won't be dependent on parents at all) so I was just wondering if I'll qualify for any level of grant? Because I'm transferring (but transferring back, in a way) I doubt I am, but if anyone knows, that'd be great.

For your repeated first year in college - no, unless there are exceptional circumstances for doing first year again (medical for example). But yes, come the second year of a course, assuming the rules and all that stay the same.

Yeah well I actually won't be going anywhere near first year again - If I get accepted to the transfer, I'll be doing second year again. I assume it's the same as what you said though, where if I restart second year I'll have the fee and no grant but final year all will be back to normal.
