Best website ever. You have to register but the bargins you get on it is unreal. A fendi sunglasses sale is coming up on it within the next few days and the reduction on them usually are unreal. I picked up a pair of Bvlgari ones last year for under €100.

Oasis have some lovely pairs at the moment. Especially in the aviator style, think they're around €30.

Wow! Considering the fact you do photography i thought you may at least be able to appreciate the difference between lens quality.

Anyway...If you don't want to spend much and you want something that offers protection and reasonable optics then chemists sell decent cheaper sunglasses.
If you want to buy a pair with a great lens then you will be looking at a starting price of around €100 give or take.Brands to look out for would be Maui Jim or Serengeti, both of these brands have excellent lens.I'd avoid the designer brands as your paying for the name and frame and its usually a mediocre lens used.

Eh? Im asking you do you understand or appreciate the difference in optics between a poor a decent made lens? Have you any experience in seeing the difference? Obviously you don't have a clue what your talking about i suppose ignorance is bliss.

Lol, wtf are you shíting on about? We’re talking about fashion accessories here. Do you think people buy sunglasses based on the quality of lens? Of course not, they buy based on how they look when they wear them. People don’t give a crap about the lens, so long as it’s tinted! Which is obvious by the number of people on this thread suggesting cheap sunglasses, because most people have the cop on not to spend €100 on non essential glasses that they’re going to wear for a month out of the year.

You comparing it to a camera lens is just laughable. It’s like comparing a sandal to a football boot.

Have to agree with padi89 here slightly with regards to lenses. There are obviously two types of people who buy sunnies.

    1. Those who just buy them for how they look and want them cheap and cheerful
    2. People like myself who want them to look good but also give proper eye protection. polarised lenses are the best in my experience.

Also I don't just wear them in summer as they can keep out the winter glare of the sun when it is low in the sky - much safer for driving..!

So I assume you wear sunglasses every second you step out the door in daylight?

Ah jeez you haven't a clue just as i thought, the OP asked for a suggestion for cheap and decent and i gave my suggestion. If she had inquired about a fashion accessories sunglasses and didn't give a **** about nothing else i would have said Dunnes.Of course looks are important but if your looking for something decent and your spending over a ton on a pair there's not much point it all going on a designer frame with gammy lens.A month out of the year:rolleyes: Christ on a bike you really don't have the foggiest idea, you should be able to make use of them all year round. They ain't summerglasses they are sunglasses, it doesn't matter what season it is the sun is still there ya know.Do you spend anytime at all outdoors, do you even drive?
I never compared it to a camera lens, i just can't understand how someone that is into photography cannot appreciate optics.

Don't know why you would assume that.

I like to wear sunglasses when the sun is shining. Not very often in this country as you know.

One of the disadvantages of being fair is that my eyes are also sensitive to the sun. Just don't like to drive around not being able to see because of the water welling up in my eyes!

OP, maybe try an optician. They tend to have good quality glasses and frames and you don't have to wear glasses. It all depends on what price you want to pay and how often you'll wear them.
And can we all stop bickering over who-spends-what? It's no help to the OP.
