Could some one tell me what handicap you would need to get on a college golf team

    UCC
    UCD
    NUIG
    NUIM
    U.L
    ETC

Would it have made a difference if you were off 4

    nd stuff.

Surprised they dont have different handicap teams r diff teams for diff years:confused:

UCD - you'd wanna be scratch at worst
    NUIM - anything below 5 or 6

NUI Maynooth is the only College where you'll have to be off scratch to get on their team ... but as far as I know this year they had a 'B' and 'C' team for the higher handicaps. UCD lost all their good players two years ago (Still have one or two good players though) if you're a decent 4 handicap you'd probably get onto to their team. I know this for a fact as I've two very good friends playing for both colleges. Regarding UCC, my friend played them a few weeks back and their best golfer was off 3.

My reasoning of them not contacting me was that I was too high a handicapper and they were looking for lower handicappers for competitions and the like.
Oh well, down to the range for me:D

Not sure about NUIM now but I had a friend on their team last year off 4 so was basing my opinion on that. As for UCD, not a hope you get on the team off 4. A boards.ie poster i know was on a scholarship last year off 1 and didn't make the team

Umm, your completely wrong. Plasyed UCD this year, february I think, lost to a guy playing off 4. their other handicaps were in the range of something like 2, 3, 3, 4. And thats fact.

As for NUIM, if your not off scratch you dont have a chane with the likes of Chris Drumm, Walton, Fennelly and loads more..they had 2 teams last year and the the second team played their games out of cork and played in the munster/connacht section because they had such a dearth of talent. Money speaks.

The guy you quoted above was spot on about NUIM and UCD.
