Is anyone else getting this crap been thrown at then when trying to sell things, I don’t mind haggling for the best price but there is limits and because Eddie Hobbs says you should get 20% extra discount doesn’t mean that you can. I’ve 2 workers that are on a 3 day week and next week they’ll be on a 2 day week and even at that I really don’t need them but I don’t want to let them go, but business is very slow at the moment and I might not have a choice.

Yesterday, I had a women in the shop and I could give this woman her Eddie Hobbs discount after she demanded “Give me my Eddie Hobbs recession discount"” but all it means is my workers are one day closer to the dole, I mad at this not only at the Muppet Hobbs proclamation to the nation but people’s attitudes like I crapped on their Christmas dinner when I tell them I can’t afford to go any lower (which I can’t because wages, bills, rates, that 20% does make a difference).

Anybody else stories of any unreasonable people.

(She bought the items anyway even without her Eddie langer Hobbs discount)

Just tell them that you've spoken to Eddie and that you've factored in the discount. However they'll be entitled to a further 10% discount if they bring Eddie Hobbs into the shop with them. :D

And when the little wanker does arrive you can then take him out the back, beat the living sh*t out of him and shove a copy of last years accounts up his arse. And tell him to "take it out of that Eddie".

The same man harped on about Rip Off Republic when he was getting €5,000-€10,000 for after dinner speeches and encouraging people in invest in Northern Rock the first bank that nearly went under and then claimed it was his own stroke of genius because now that bank is guaranteed by the UK government.

20% - wow, that's a pretty good margin to begin with (depending on your industry). You must presume no one would give back more than half their margin so Eddie must believe everyone is working off approximately 40% margins, nice if you can get it.

I'm an insurance broker by trade and we introduced a discount, I suppose our version of the Eddie Hobbs discount (I'll shoot myself if I describe it like that to any potential client) on commercial new business in 2009. Has anyone else introduced a similar EH discount.

I think we should offer a reward to whoever can find and gag EH, I'll throw €100 into the pot.

Anyway it's not a recesssion, it's a prelude to the next boom period.

Ask the client did they buy holiday homes in West Africa (Cape Verde) which was one of Eddys last recommendations. Ask them then when they say no, do they think it would have been a good idea to do that? They'll say no again. Then finally ask them if they think its a good business advice from Eddy if you should give a discount of 20% when your margin is only 15%. They'll say no again and that'll be the end of it!
Then you can moan a bit about eddy and say, jesus not only did he try to cripple the public getting them to buy his properties in africa but now he's trying cripple the business sector as well!!
