The other 1/2 needs to have a wisdom tooth surgically removed as it's infected & causing a lot of pain.
Waiting list for Dental Hospital is 13-14 mths & then another 3-4 mths for surgery so that's not going to fly.
Got a price of €375 for surgical extraction.
Is there anyone out there who's gotten it done for less in Dublin or even if you have prices for up north?

tbh, i think that is a great price! I had a wisdom tooth extraction a couple of months ago and did it cost me!!! I paid 800 euro! Now I did ask to get IV sedation, but still, very expensive!!! Tried to claim it back through VHI and all I got was 170. :(

I had 4 removed in March 08, total cost to me was 400 euro, rest went through VHI Plan B.

My surgeon was Andrew Norris, http://www.beaconconsultantsclinic.com/andrew_norris.htm, who I was referred to by my dentist, Sylvester Dwyer, who is based on Harcourt Street. He was recommended to me by a girl I worked with at the time, I've only been to him a couple of times but he is an excellent dentist from my limited experience.

I had the surgery in the dentists office in Harcourt Street which was handy enough too as I was working in the area at the time.

Had the four removed under local anaesthetic which was a bizarre scenario but nothing too horrifying and not too painful either, during or after.

Unfortunately we don't have VHI or any other type of insurance.

Ok so he got the one lower wisdom tooth extracted today under local. It took about 1 1/2hrs & had to drill bone a bit!!! Total cost is €300.
€75 of that is covered by PRSI. We are paying it off over next 2 weeks.

Dentist is in Mulhuddart, don't have a name.

Glad it went ok at least, with no numb tongue or lip issues. I think VHI paid around 500 or 600 toward mine on top of the 400 I paid myself.

Ah. That def works out cheaper then. I'm getting a bridge done at dental hospital so I will try put my name down to get the 4 out at some point as I will prob need it done.
Not only am I dreading the actual procedure but also you can't smoke for 2 wks after! I'll probably go mad
