Inspired by the 'Here's what I saw today' thread in Motors, would it be a good idea to have a thread to post all the interesting happening during daily commute to work and back?

    Here's one from Easter Friday morning's 8:28 Drogheda-Connolly service:

I presume for some reason it was printing out a list of all the sound files for the station names?

West on Track will be delighted to see Sligo after Claremorris.

    This too shall pass.

I should've taken a photo of this on Friday - in Connolly, heading to get the 1640 train to Gorey:
    • Sitting at Platform 4, a new Intercity set showing "Gorey" on all displays.
    • Also sitting at Platform 5, a new Intercity set showing "Gorey" on all displays.

As a regular commuter, I know the Platform 4 train was actually for Sligo, but god help any tourists or anyone else unfamiliar with the uselessness of Irish Rail. I did see a couple of IR staff pointing and discussing the incorrect displays on the Sligo train, but in the end they just shrugged their shoulders and ambled off in different directions.

Couple of weeks ago, I got on board a DART service with the intention of getting off at Portmarnock. Sat down reading Metro / Herald and keeping and eye on the display inside, and I missed Portmarnock and ended up in Malahide, as the display still said 'Killester' or something. It never got to Portmarnock..! Then the driver walks past me, saw me not getting off at Malahide, and I pointed out the error and he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away..!

Like Ash...I was on the Drogheda train not so long ago when the display started to run in reverse, all the writing was backward but still scrolling left to right... very weird..

But they never will I have seen the north western end of the WRC and there is houses built on the route and nearer to Clairemorris there are houses built about 100 yards from the rail line and there is scrub growing on it and its not a pretty site
