A 1990 Saab 9000s 2.3 that is going to be crushed, check out this gallery for some photos http://picasaweb.google.com/cymbals.simmons/Saab9000S

It is free to a good home for parts or restoration but it has not been used much in the last 2 years and will need to be trailered away.

Date of delivery : Jan 1990 ( bought by Sir George Clarke, Co. Down )
    Model : 9000s 2.3 non-turbo
    Mileage : 159,359

    Good Points
    1. Its Free!
    2. Service history up to 124,066 miles
    3. Very nice tan leather interior
    4. Lots of toys, heated front seats, electric windows and computer
    5. It runs and can be driven onto a trailer

    Bad Points
    1. Headlining has collapsed
    2. Small areas of bubbling rust starting to appear
    3. Brake actuator needs to be replaced

    Anyone interested?

I think this would be better in the motor forum, more exposure! Op ask the mods can they move it if you want.

Classics can get quite quiet at times whereas general motors is always active.

Save the saab from the crusher!

It's kinda classic and posting here might mean it's got a better chance of going to a good new home. But if OP wants, I'll move it to the general motor forum.

Yup, it is in Donegal. I did indeed post it here hoping it will go to someone who will appreciate it. Last thing I want is it to be used for banger racing :(.

I'd love to take it, but I can't. Don't have a garage and not enough time either.

If the worst comes to the worst and this beauty doesn't find a home, I'd like to call first dibs on the front seats though (would come and collect)

Sure thing, if nobody wants the car, the seats are yours, the leather is in very nice condition.

Hope someone saves it as it looks like a genuine, straight motor. I'd love it but distance rules it out, I'm afraid. What about Junkyard's classic car collective taking it on?

Would be a pity to kill it just for the seats, they are a lovely car.But i suppose if no one else takes it..

indeed they are ...hence my continued interest in the beige Saab seats ...as they would go nicely in my yoke ...unless someone wants the whole car, of course

Put it up on a few car sites for free if you haven't already OP. I'm sure someone will have mercy on it.
Ebay the paperwork? A collector might snatch them up.

The 9000 was based on what was called the type four chassis, a platform shared with the Fiat Croma, Lancia Thema and Alfa Romeo 164. The Croma and Thema are outwardly similar to the 9000 while the 164 shares only the chassis. Much of the bodywork was interchangeable between the 9000, Croma and Thema; for example, the doors of the Croma apparently fit directly onto the 9000, but are lighter due to less side impact protection. The 9000's body was designed by Giorgetto Guigaro.

    Why not just fix it?
It is in better looking shape than mine:eek: and good for many more miles. Parts can be got secondhand on t'internet in several places in the UK. If I had space I'd have it in a heart beat, but there are usually 6/7 cars in the yard and no shed.
Now if it was an AERO :D

Thought you might be interested, I have a local guy here in Donegal that will charge around €200 to ship the car to Dublin. I have used his service many times getting cars from the UK. JD Recovery Services 0862289494 or 0749139303
