Laptop graphics card weirdness

    Hi,

Yesterday my laptop went kaput...blue screen and funny noises etc :(

So after a bit of messing about here's what I have found...I can boot in safe mode and if I reset the driver back to the Windows default driver the laptop will work connected to an external monitor (nothing on the laptop screen). If I install the latest graphics driver I get a bluescreen half way through and am back to square one.

I assume the graphics card is shagged but am surprised I can output to an external monitor (in safe mode).

What's your thoughts? is it worth while buying a new graphics card or do you think there could be more wrong with the PC than that?

It is/was an Nvidia Geforce Go 7300 card by the way, can't find much on t'internets about it.

    Cheers
