COD4/PS3 - bonus maps only work when online

    I have COD4 on the PS3. I have the bonus maps.

    The bonus maps only seem to be available while the PS3 has an active internet connection.

    Can anyone else confirm the same thing happens them?

    Even when online I can't use the map pack when playing offline s/screen

    Is this how it's supposed to work? How are you supposed to play split screen with the bonus maps if you have no internet where you are?

    Is it just a case of tough?

    Don't you need the internet to download them in the first place?

    I bought them via the PS3 Online Store over my internet connection yah.

    I assumed that I'd be able to use the bonus maps whenever I was offline too then. Clearly I've missed something along the way somewhere ...

    Just to confirm - when you say offline you don't just mean splitscreen... confirm there is no active internet connection (wired or wireless) connected on your PS3 please?

    but sure it has to be split screen how else would it be ?
    they are multi player maps

    ya i did it NOT signed in to psn

    your right, ya i disabled "internet connection" in network settings
    and cannot access bonus maps now,

    thats weird you can only use when internet is enabled,

    can you not stay connected permanently wirelessly/wired ?

    I can at home but if I was to bring my PS3 over to my mates etc then I may didn't have internet access.

    Bit of a pain then.

    Don't suppose anyone knows a way around ths? (a legit way ...)

    ive played spilt screen on all of the maps:confused:it says on them non split screen or something but ye it does work

    Can you confirm this has worked while your PS3 was not connected to the internet? (I'm not talking about an offline COD4 came, I mean while your PS3 itself is not connected to the internet).

    That's the bit that's crucial here. Whether your PS3 is online or offline.

    It's a bloody pain.

    Anyways, thanks lads for the replys.
