Hi all, just looking for a bit of help if you any of you have experienced the same? I am currently training for gaelforce at the end of summer and am experiencing quite a lot of pain (cant walk some days after training) between my calves and my achilles? Its not exactly either of them but bloody sore. I have been running now 3 times per week, approx 8-10 K per session in asics kayano15 shoes, so dont think the shoes are the issue. last 2 weeks its got pretty bad to the point of not training.

im doing calf and achilles stretches before and after training, but nothing seems to work, the physio just assaulted me for 30 mins and left me in a worse state than before. Any advice or tips you guys have would be greatly appreciated, cheers!

    Hi,

I can't give you advice but I'll share my experiences:

I had the same problem a few weeks ago and went to the physio.

He showed me this stretch which I've found good:

Did your physio show you some stretches?

I find ice good and also spend a good 15-20mins stretching my legs every day which seems to have helped. I took a few days off as well.

As an aside - I bought the Kayano 15s as well after having the 13s and 14s and they gave me alot of bother so I'm getting a pair of 14s again. Probably just a personal thing though.
