Have a mate who has just joined Roganstown. Just wondering when he gets his 3 cards & handicap sorted would he be elgible for interclub competitions?

He's fairly decent & would stroll into the metro & possibly junior cup teams.

Also anyone know how the 3 card thing & you get a handicapp work?
Is it an average of the 3 rounds?

    Quick Answer :D:

No, he will not be eligible for inter club stuff, as it is normally exclusively based on the previous years cards.

The 3 card thing works on the following basis (and I'm paraphrasing) but the normal procedure would be to play 18 holes with a Club Member. According to the "Standard Scratch and Handicapping Scheme" booklet, Section 15.3, cards for handicap must be played at the player's home club and must be marked and signed by a playing member of that club. Check this with the GUI as I'm looking at the 2001 version.

It does not work on the average, in that a player is deemed to have scored no more than 2 over par on a hole that he may have scored greater than that score on. i.e. If he has a 7 on a par four, it will be re-adjusted to a 6 for the purpose of gaining a handicap.
