Stopped at petrol station to get petrol, came out after paying and noticed there was suddenly water flowing from under the bonnet/ engine

Filled the water tank with water but as it was being filled, it was still visible that water was coming out underneath

    Any ideas what caused this?

Can’t get to a mechanic until tomorrow

    Help appreciated

Something has obviously sprung a leak. Most likely a burst pipe or radiator.

I wouldn't drive it if I were you

Water or coolant? Coolant will probably be blue, pink, green or rust coloured.

if it's just clear water its probably a leak from your windscreen washer reservoir or pipes. If the car has aircon it could be condensation from the aircon.

I drove it 40 km's after filling the water tank and it was fine.

    Thats strange.

You do know that if there's no water in your cooling system the temperature of your engine won't register on your temperature gauge.

Check the upper and lower rad hoses, the thermostat and the water pump. if it looks wet around the area then it liekly the spot of the leak, theres also the core plugs on the engine, they are known to corrode on Fiats.

when you say a leak, was it gushing out?
