Wireless network not working for iomega media player

I have a 500GB HD pro screenplay media player with wireless capability (via a USB dongle which I purchased separately).
    My ISP is eircom.
I can connect the media player to my network wirelessly when I remove my WEP encryption key.
When I activate the WEP key & key it in as requested - it won't connect - says "Test Failed" but gives no reason.

Has anyone any ideas?? I've tried shortening & changing the WEP but for whatever reason it won't connect. I don't want to risk not using a WEP key.

    thanks

Have you tried changing the security to WPA? (which is safer anyway)

No, I haven't tried switching to WPA...I'll give this a go.

    Thanks for the reply.

You might have needed you WEP key in hexadecimal format but WPA was a much better option
