Accessing the restore partition on a Dell laptop

I want to wipe a couple of laptops here, various different Dell models (D830, M2300, for example), but for some reason CTRL-F11 is not working on any of them.

According to the Documentation on Dell's own website, this should bring up the restore utility, but it doesn't seem to.

I've checked in Windows Disk Manager and they all have hidden partitions, which presumably is the restore partition.

    Am I missing something?

you have to do the keystroke just at the right time...perhaps you are a fraction lil too late. I usually do it the moment the DELL bios logo disappears
