    Hi

I have just returned from a 1 year trip and am doing up my CV again. Do you put on your CV that you have travelled over the past year? I mean I have a 1 year gap and am not sure what to put down. I did work though for 2 months in a contract role related to my discipline (IT) whilst travelling.

Of course put it down, simply write "travelling in Australia" and list the job you've done. It's a good impression - not only you went travelling but also done something relevant!

If you don't put it down people will wonder were you in prison...

Always avoid ever having gaps in your cv, will only lead to lots of questions. Would make a point during any interview when they mention your travels that you clearly state out of your system or something along those lines which will demonstrate your long term commitment to a career with their company etc

Good luck with the job hunting

Traveling is always a good thing in an interview as you can bring up experiences that show up abilities that don't normally occur in mundane day to day jobs.
