Hi, Does anyone know a shop in Dublin where you can buy yeast which is suitable for home brewing (ale)? I have all the other necessary beer kit parts, just need some yeast. I know I can order it online, but was hoping to pick it up today to get on with brewing. Thanks.

There isn't one, I'm afraid. But if you can swing by Phibsborough this evening after work, I'll give you a pack of Danstar Nottingham, for the €2 I paid for it. PM me and I'll give you my mobile number.

Thanks very much for the offer, but unfortunately won't be able to make it to Phibsboro. I bit the bullet and ordered some online. Not to worry:)

Has anybody used or could they recommend a bottle conditioned beer whos yeast could be used? I expect some bottle conditioned beers yeast might be "dead" but some might still be active, and though possibly not ideal it is probably going to be better than using dry bread yeast which others resort to, and could be cheaper too.

Would the likes of the porter house or messers tapped beer be active? not sure if any of them are "cloudy".

I think the country cellar in dun laoghaire do it, and I think a health store in stillorgan shopping centre does beer supplies. Did you buy a full kit? I would expect yeast with a kit, did you check under the cap?
