I would like to develop this forum into something more than a place where we exchange information.

I want us to talk about life when you depend on State Benefits. I think the voices and the experiances of those who depend on the State - more of us than at any point in our history - needs to be heard and I want them to be heard on boards.ie

This is important, the marginalised always find that their voices are lost in the wilderness - I feel it is happening already as those who are scared to lose their jobs think those who have none are living the life of reilly (even f they cannot see the paradox).

We are on the brink of local elections - I will welcome threads on the politics of our posters lives when the time comes, including stickies on each party's stance on Social Welfare/Health Supplements ect as they are formulated.

I'll be talking to our admins abut this slight change in direction i the forum, I think they may be able to assist in this. A large community exists where it did not exist before and boards is all about communities.

    Suggestions are welcome.

    Great idea popebenny.
For a lot of people, this is their first time faced with longterm unemployment.
For some people, it's the first time to face going to the dole office.
    That can be quite daunting.
It might help to talk through the whole process.

Thumbs up from me PB. Boards is as much about the sharing of experience and experiences as it is about the sharing of information.
