    RTE news today carried details of MATS service for the last 6 months
    Total flights - 83
    Total fixed wing - 70
    Total rotary - 13 (15% of MATS flights)
    National flights -25
    International flights - 58
    Cost - 'Government jet' (doesn't specify) 7890/hour
    EC-135 1590/hour

    By these figures, on average one heli out of eight is used every 14 days, makes it kinda hard to justify the arguement that they're nothing but ministerial taxis.
