Alloy Wheels: Advice Needed

    Hi all,

Driving a Golf GT at the moment and I'm starting to think about swapping the wheels on it. There's nothing wrong with the ones I have but I just think they look a bit clunky on it (16in 5-spoke).

Where's the best place to look at wheels in Dublin? Any recommendations?
I was in Halfords a while back but their selection was fairly limited.

Also, from looking on a few websites there seems to be a fairly large selection of brands available - is there any ones I should be staying away from? I don't want to be putting cheap wheels on my car that have poor structural integrity...obviously.

    Cheers lads

A golf GT you say, so it's a mk5 then? If it is I would keep an eye on ebay for a set og genuine wheels from a higher spec car. If the car is a mk5 the fitment is 5x112 and there are loads of wheels available in that fitment.

I myself would steer clear of halfords and replica wheels as they are of lesser quality and would be a fair bit heavier. A lot of the genuine vw/audi and so on wheels are made by bbs/ronal/speedline/oz, these are all quality brands to look out for.

Keep an eye on the parts for sale section of vagdrivers as there are usually some nice wheels for sale there. http://vagdrivers.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=26239

Yeah, that's what I was thinking alright. I'll start Googling them brands to see what comes up.
