    Quite pretty, but not very practical.

    You'll spend a lot of time keeping the bar tape, saddle and wheels clean.

    by the way looking at the 1.7 version of this bike the difference is ultegra v 105 and different wheels , the 1.7 for me is nicer looking but am thinking maybe need to go for possibly better components over style.

    is there a big difference between ultegra and 105 ? that justifies spending an extra 150 or so...

    I think the 1.9 looks better myself. Apart from the groupset the wheels are a fair bit better as well (Bontrager Race vs Bontrager SSR.) White rims too, very bling. I would tend to go for the 1.9... unless you were going to get a Boardman, Canyon, Planet X etc. :)

    I bought the 08 1.9 around this time last year.
    Very different colouring (black with grey/white trim) with full Ultegra. It came with white bar tape and white saddle ... I got the shop to change the tape before I picked it up ...
    I switched out the stock wheels immediately but have used them throughout the winter on another bike without any problems whatsoever.

    regarding the paint and look of the bike .. imho, its nice ... but if you're spending over 1k on it you should have no doubts about how it looks ... you might be looking at it for a while

    Ive no connection to the shop but ... for an alternative view on things I know they've a 2008 1.9 in wheelworx with the black colouring ... if you're living in Dublin
