I'm sure the shop has some reason to add the 10 cent that us mere mortals wont understand.

Yeah your right, they went to €8.35 but as of yesterday Gallaghers Tobacco - who are Ireland's Largest Tobacco Company - put an extra 10cents on a packet of 20 cigs bringing it now to €8.45.

Some of the brands got a manufacturers increase of 10c to offset the difference of the brands did remained the same. Mayfair/Lambert and Butler did not go up. Marl Lights are €8.35, however Marl Red are €8.45. Expect to pay a little more if bought from the vending machines!

And the companies still try and say that they are not in cahoots!!!

There'll be another increase in a few months again. Diesel went up in the budget, so delivery charges are up.

Every smoker in ireland should get them in northern ireland. We'd see how the government manage without the extra tax.

    **** off.

As I've said a hundred times over, just buy smokes from the Polish. You can get 200 for €35. **** the economy, I'd quicker fly to the canaries and bring back a couple of hundred packs than pay over 40c a cig.

Are they not more expensive up north after you convert the sterling?

I can't believe people are still buying them here.

Bought 200 up north recently worked out about €6.40 per pack, but they have some really dodgy pictures on their packs. The worst one was some guy with a massive growth on his throat. Anyway, still smoked them and saved money!
