Renewing my license and one of the questions on the form is
"Do you hold, or have you held within the last 10 years a driving license from another country? If yes, state name of country….and give date of expiry of license."

Just wondering if anyone knew what difference it makes or why they ask that?

    Cheers

    Regardless, I'd answer no.

I'd say that it is to prevent people holding two licences. Use your UK licence for penalties etc..........that sort of thing. People do that sort of thing you know;)

Exactly, by law if you transfer your Irish licence to another country then that should invalidate your Irish licence the issuing country of your new licence should inform the Irish Licence division and have the Original invalidated, but the communication within government department in most of the world is just S***
