Hi, I have been recieving jobseekers benefit since mid December, and like everyone else I must sign on every month.

Today while signing I noticed something, that I hope someone could explain.
When I sign on I'm handed a green card with 3 or 4 columns on it, 1 for my signature, 1 for the date and 1 with the heading "remarks" there may be another column, I'm not to sure.

My question is about this remarks column, next to two of my signatures in the remarks column are the numbers 12 and 36. i.e. for one month you have my signature, the date, then in the remarks column the number 12, for another month you have signature, date, in remarks column the number 36.

Can anyone tell me what this means?

    Hi

The numbers you are referring to are generally the number of days you have been in receipt of unemployment benefits, every month 24 days are added on for the 4 weeks you are confirming that you have been unemployed.

The social welfare office uses this card to work out how many days you have been signing on and future entitlements..nothing to worry about!!;)
