I've just been looking at PAYE online and there was a section about Tax Reliefs to be claimed. I've claimed the obvious one, Rent Relief, for years, but I was wondering are there any others that people commonly overlook?

    cheers

If you are paying any service charges e.g. Bin charges you can claim it, as well as well as any health expenses

There are a few alright - union membership is one as well.

I remember some guy from the revenue was on the Matt Cooper radio show a couple of years ago saying that they actually encourage people to claim what they are due, but I'd say they're happy to keep it more quiet at the moment...

    rent relief

    bin charges

    medical expenses

    union membership

    mortgage payments

    interest on home improvement loans

if you sign up to revenue on line ros - it will tell you exactly what you can claim from
