Seems I'm getting house of the dead overkill as a *very* belated Christmas present. :D I am trying to decide if the hand cannon accessory is worth purchasing. Has anyone tried the game with any lightgun and if so what would they recommend?

Get the hand cannon - it's easily one of the best ones out there with a solid build and it was quite literally made for this game.

It's pretty fun with Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicals as well which is the second best gun game after House of the dead I think.

Got two hand cannons when I got House of the Dead Overkill, for myself and the gf, they're really good solid build quality, but actually quite heavy :o

Get anything but the official Nintendo Zapper. Got a normal handgun and the zapper for Resi Umbrella Chronicles and I swear the Zapper actually makes it harder to play!

Thank you folk....Managed to get the hand cannon (theyre becoming quite rare). Very solid and sturdy and, as pointed out, heavy. Makes me wish THOTD:OH had a pistol whip mode....:D

Game in Hamleys, Dundrum have quite a few hand cannons left in stock; or did when I picked up my second one on Saturday (after picking up a Wii along with Overkill and a handcannon on friday :D ). €19.99 each

The Game shop on the 3rd level of Dundrum had none left in stock and apparently the hand cannons are a limited run?

A pistol whip action for Overkill would be hillarious.

If anyone's lookin for them, Smyths in Naas (and I assume others) have plenty of the hand cannons plus the Nerf light guns.
