There's a job section here on Boards somewhere. I had a temporary job working in Tesco for Christmas when I was 16 two years ago and now its very hard to get any sort of a job now.

The best thing do in my opinion is to keep in local, in otherwords, advertise for babysitting etc

babysitting, collecting golf balls and selling them, washing windows, washing cars, mowing lawns, selling buns, painting walls, busking on the street...........................

A 16-year-old girl is going to mind my two older children for the Summer holidays. She is already our babysitter and I know she is well capable of looking after them.
That's just to give you an example of what you could do, as well as general handyman jobs like window cleaning, tidying up yards.
I would recommend placing a small ad in your local newsagent's window.
    Best of luck to you!

I got a job as a lounge boy in my local pub when I was 16. Started out during the year with a couple of nights a week and I was delighted with my earnings.

It usually helps to know someone or if your parents/relations/friends etc etc know someone in a local business. Ask everyone you know, the worst they can say is no.

Do your parents have any friends who might have a local corner shop or a local business that you could do a bit of work in.

Apart from that, not many places are going to be hiring, caddying in your local golf club maybe.I know that during the summer you can earn a good bit in tips doing that.

Also,do some handy work like painting for neighbours or cutting lawns or something over the summer for elderly people who might not be able to these things themselves.

    Were do you live?

JD Sports in town are always looking for people (mainly because everyone only can last a month or two), usually under 18. (It's not pretty work by the way).

Double-check your grammar before you go hunting for jobs.

I suspect you're not capable of driving a truck (no licence), working in a bar (too young), being an accountant (not qualified) or a brain surgeon (ditto). You'll be unsuitable to be one of a jockey (too big/heavy) or a bouncer (too small). And lots of other things.

However you probably are capable of LEARNING how to do lots of low-skilled jobs fairly quickly.

Instead of looking for "almost anything" (which really means "nothing" in many cases), I'd suggest looking around your neighbourhood and see what jobs there being done by people like you. Think fast-food places, cinemas, shops, bars that serve food (you can wait tables), nursing homes (can you clean?).

    Good luck.
