    im looking for an external hard drive for around 50/60 euro.

    where is the best place to get one?

    I would say stay away from Maxtor. I've been through two Maxtor externals in the last 2 years. The link you have sent is the last one I had.

    Western Digital Passport 250GB

    If 250Gig is big enough for you, go for this.

    Great quality, very portable, looks good and doesn't need external power

    +1 on the maxtor

    Terrible stuff.

    WD passports are good if you dont want it to need its own power supply and try Iomega as a brand aswell! They rock! I have several extr. HDD's from them and no breaks, losses or problems, formats well also and copys good!

    dont know if they still have it though

    is there a shop anywhere in dublin that is good for getting the external hard drives? i dont mind buying online if i have to but id like to check them out in a store too.

    Peats in town has some and I actually got one for a decent price in harvey normans once aswell. Normally they are not cheap but usually have a good selection and are appearently willing to "negotiate" price wat with the "recession"

    peats were selling iomega 500gig external drives usb 74euro, iomega 1tg is 140 usb 2months ago .I PREFER TO buy in a shop,if theres ony ten euro off ,from a website.See peats.com .

    yeah i think that ones exactly what im looking for. i might even fork out for the 320 gb. thanks.

    I too would reccommend the WD passports. I got an 80GB one years ago and it still works a treat.

    cheers yeah im going to go ahead and either get a WD 250/320 GB, just seeing where the best place to get it is
