Hi i have lost an awful lot of weight in the last year or so about 8 1/2 stone (diagnosed with diabetes) obviously this has affected my golf as i have lost an awful lot of distance and was wondering how to get some of it back.i thought i would generate more power as i can get through the ball far cleaner but it has not really worked. My clubs were custom fitted and now with big changes to my body i am wondering if they are no longer suitable and should go and get them checked and get lie loft or shaft changed (cannot afford new ones) or go to my pro for lessons if anyone can advise me i would be grateful.its slightly frustrating hitting a 5 wood when i used to hit 5 iron and a 7 or 8 iron where i hit PW.Many thanks

Just go to your local PGA pro for advice on it.

Maybe your swing needs a tune up.

If your body shape has changed significantly then you should definitely get the club set up checked out. I bought a set of custom fit clubs from a club pro a couple of years ago and was told at the time that I could return anytime to get the lie / loft etc checked or changed free of charge.
If you need to change the flex in your shafts it may cost you a few bob
    but worth checking out.

I contacted a local pro who is an old mate of mine so i am going out to see him Monday evening,as he said go out and let him look at my swing as the weight loss will have a huge difference on my swing and see whether a few lessons or a change in my clubs or both are necessary.
