    Hi,

Does anyone know why some of the video on the RTE website is smaller than the realplayer screen?
Hope what I wrote makes sense.

it seems that it's mainly older archive footage that plays out on the smaller screen, pre 07. I could be wrong.

that would mean then that they are 4:3 and are not widescreen.. dont have real player so cant see an example....

when are RTE going to move to a flash player?

    Hi,

It's all current affairs and news programmes.
They are still widescreen, but only occupy a small portion of the Real Player screen.
    Entertainment and drama play normally.
    I've e-mail RTE.

    Cheers.

How is a flash player better? (This is an honest to goodness question, not a snarky comeback, because I really don't know)

Because its not crapware, and can actually work, as youtube et all have proven, RTEs streaming with Real Player never worked for me , and its not a ip address blocking problem either.. I've got the latest version of Real Player installed before those comments are made :pac::D

I've never been able to use RTEs web player, it's terrible. Won't even play music properly.

The RTÉ Player (modelled on BBC Player) will launch in first third 2009 (ie soon) so these problems should disappear.
