    Hey looking to buy a car next few days probably looking at mondeos playing it safe really would really like a A4 but only have 4 grand and am looking at fuel efficency anyone know are mondeos reliable or what cars are will be used for long journeys

    You cant really go wrong with a Mondeo, however you might not get the later tdci engined diesel in your price range. The older tddi is noisier and a little less economical. A taxi driver i know did 200 odd k in one from new though and it was a reliable engine. If its just for long spins, the 1.8 wouldn't be the worst driven sensibly. Make sure you get Zetec spec or above if you can
