The Last Man On Earth and The Omega Man are both adaptations of the original novella of 'I am Legend' by Richard Matheson.

    Oh.. and Peter Jackson's Braindead.

I also recommend Charlie Brooker's fantastic TV series last year called 'Dead End'.. better than any of the George Romero efforts of recent years to be honest! ;)

Night of the Living Dead (1990, not 1968 version - purists may disagree with me but I just think the remake is better)
Day of the Dead (the original, whenever it came out. It was remade last year - i think - but the remake was absolutely terrible)

Fido - Zombies in a 1950'sesque environment, pretty funny, also includes Carrie Anne Moss.
[Rec] - Slightly predictable but (I found) very scary. Shot in a documentary style. This is in spanish so if you don't like reading words then get the american remake 'Quarantine', which is almost a shot for shot remake.

    It's 'Dead Set', but +1.

Thought this was pretty average.. inventive though not particularly well thought out or written. Though it does star an unrecognisable Billy Connolly also.

How did I forget this... might be because I didn't really consider it a zombie movie.

Anyways, predictable it may be.. but terrifying for the final 10 minutes.

Whoops.. yeah. 'Dead End' is that another low-brow horror.

My favourite Zombie film is probably Zombie Flesh eaters (aka Zombi 2). Has a very unique unsettling atmosphere and two of the most memorable scenes I have ever seen in any film!

The living dead at Manchester morgue is also much more than just a brilliant title...well worth checking out.

Watched Demons for the first time last week and it is brilliant. Great soundtrack and if your a fan of heavy metal/80's music definitely check that out. Still havent seen Demons 2 yet (planning to watch it this week) but its supposed to be very good.

As others have said Dead set was actually very well done...I was surprised by it.

Cant believe nobody has recommended land of the dead and day of the dead, romero's other zombie films. Was'nt crazy about Land (although a lot of people loved it I would recommend you check it out) but Day is really good and well worth a watch.

I Walked With A Zombie, White Zombie, The Serpent and the Rainbox are all very good if you looking for something a little different. The problem with zombie films is that tehre are so so many of them these days that genuinely decent titles have a habit of getting lost in the crowd.

    Let me guess
eyeball gouge and zombie vs shark?
    :D
It is a great movie alright.

Living Dead at the MM is the alternate title for Let Sleeping Corpses Lie.
    Good movie too.

Demons is great,Demons 2,not so great IMO.Avoid part 3:The Ogre though, not great at all at all.
Couldnt put them in the zombie genre though.

Day of the Dead is my favourite zombie movie of all time.Ive watched it sooo many times and it is Savini's Cistine Chapel. This movie is the reason I hate CGI,particularly in horror movies sofaking much. The movie is 25 or so years old yet the effects piss all over every big budget horror flick of the last 10 years.

Land of the Dead is ok I guess. It ceratainly pales in comparison to the 3 movies that preceeded it though.
