Can you submit multiple med 1 forms throughout the year as receipts for medical expenses come through or do you have to collect all the receipts and submit the entire batch at the end of the year? I'm asking as I'm sure to lose receipts for stuff before the year is out so I'd like to submit them as soon as I get them. Happy to wait till the end of the year for the actual money to come back to me, that part isn't an issue.

    Hi Stark

You dont submit in receipts with your claim. You simply fill out the form and submit it for which ever tax year you are claiming for. Medical expenses are dealt with once the year is past. So basically the most recent year you can claim for is 2008 (a tax year is jan-dec). However there are some cases where your medical insurance may not run from jan-dec but say from March to March. In that case you can submit in your claim on a march to march basis. Keep in mind any medical expense that was covered by your medical insurance must be deducted from your claim that you are submitting to Revenue.
