Did anyone else listen to the 13 hours of Heaney on RTÉ Radio 1 longwave yesterday? It was stunning. There's a TV doc on tonight by the same guy who directed BEING JOHN BANVILLE. If you're a fan of contemporary classical music would advise you listen to three pieces comissioned by RTÉ to mark heaney's 70th birthday and broadcast on Lyric fm yesterday. The last one is stunning. http://www.rte.ie/heaneyat70/music.html. All in all, if you're into poetry and literature it was a terrific bank holiday Monday across RTÉ Radio 1 and Lyric.

There's a really good website up http://www.rte.ie/heaneyat70. Wish I'd had this back when I was studying Heaney.
