Do any of you use or advertise in the Hotpress Yearbook ?

How relevant do you think it is?

    I'd appreciate your replies.

I was in the who's who section so it is obviously relevant :-)

Work! Aside from correcting people's typo's round here I work on large format LED video screens for most of the big outdoor concerts and festivals in Ireland.

Ah, of course! Any more work generated by being in it?

I have no idea whatsoever but I'm sure it didn't get in the way.

Overall I think the yearbook is a great resource. It doesn't keep me up at night like Playboy might but it's very useful and I'll be buying the 2009 edition for a variety of reasons.

I advertised-got only one call I know of. Never came to anything. Not worth it IMHO

Ran ad's and was listed overpriced and absolutely useless, not one call. Why would you bother?

I'd like to know who actually buys the year book.

He he he... back in the early 90s, we were an unsigned band looking for people to stalk! We used it farily extensively. It was the bible.

That was before the Interweb & online music etc. Now, I can't see it's as relevant. I bought it last year & haven't looked at it once. Don't even know where it is TBH.

Mind you, we're still an unsigned act... we just stalk people online now :D

Most of our clients are pretty tech savvy, so the internet marketing thing is a no brainer.

The only calls we get from any of directories are other marketing companies trying to sell advertising.

As an aside, I got a call from YourLocal.ie today. They guaranteed 40 enquiries in the first month or something. Anybody tried them?

What's the return if they don't deliver?

    Free advertising!!

My fear is it'll be like joining the moonies. Sign up and they'll never leave you alone.

I can't see how they could guarantee that, they probably just call you 40 times the next day just asking you random questions...
