    Hi,
My boss has just informed me that from next week I will be put a three day week. As I have never been in this position before I was wondering do I qualify for any welfare benefits?

    I'm a 22 female I was earning €500pw for the last 19mts and €350pw the previous 2years.
    My partner 26 earns €400pw.
We have a mortgage of €952pm and we are not in negative equity.
We also have personal loans of €150 pw and my partner pays €100pw maintenance to his daughter from a previous relationship.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

You should qualify for part time jobseekers benefit I think, that is assuming you have enough prsi contributions, if you do qualify it won't matter what your outgoings are as the jobseekers benefit is not means tested. If you are working 3 days a week the maximum you will get is around €100, you get around €34 a day from jobseekers benefit.
Also if 1 of your 3 days that you are working is a Sunday then it isn't taken into consideration so you could claim for 4 days.

However if you don't have enough prsi contributions you would have to apply for jobseekers allowance, this one is means tested so they will take your partners income or any other income you have into consideration.

I am open to correction on this though.

Best advice I can give is to find out how many prsi contributions you have made and also to check out citizensinformation.ie and look at both the jobseekers benefit and allowance.
