USB "Hub" on a display

    Hi

I'm looking for a display that will allow me, sans PC, to connect a USB key and display images on the screen. The displays will be mounted on walls and display data from a PowerPoint presentation (obviously converted to jpg), scrolling through the images at a set interval continuously.

Now I've seen plenty of LCD Displays purporting to have a USB Hub built-in. For example, this display has :

    1 x USB upstream - 4 PIN USB Type B
    4 x USB downstream - 4 PIN USB Type A

Now my supplier is stating that a similar display with identical specs will do what I require, but they're not too happy to provide a demo model as proof of concept.

So my question is, do the USB "Hubs" built-in to these displays act as simple USB hubs or will they actually allow me to display images as per my requirement, via a USB key.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just because it has USB, doesn't mean it'll do a slideshow for you.
My Dell flatscreen has USB ports, but it's just a 'dumb' hub to the PC... the monitor doesn't do anything with it.
I've seen the slideshow functionality on some plasma TV's.
A rule of thumb I'd use would be that if it's a computer display, then it's probably a hub for the PC... or if it's a TV with 1 USB port and maybe a card reader then it probably has slideshow features.
The "1 x USB upstream - 4 PIN USB Type B" sounds like a USB connection going from the monitor back to the PC so it can function as a hub.

AFAIK, all Samsung TVs have USB ports on the side, and are capable of displaying JPEG images from a USB stick plugged in.

edit: All was a bit strong. You need one with Wiselink technology.

Cheers for the replies so far.

This is exactly what I thought, yet the supplier swears blind it's not the case, but can't do a PoC :/
