Sven Vath can be described as one of the godfathers of modern dance music. He was a pioneer of the trance movement and has constantly reinvented himself and his music to consistently be top of the game. Sven Väth is a DJ who has produced an extensive range of work since his career began in 1982. He was also one of the founders of trance music labels 'Harthouse' and the now-defunct 'Eye Q', as well as being among the first DJs to play trance records. In 1995 'Mixmag' rated his album 'Accident in Paradise' one of the top-50 dance albums of all time; although the title track is a fast techno piece, the rest is as varied as it is brilliant, such as the track 'Coda' which features merely a flute and a harpsichord. Väth is also known as 'R U Ready' and 'Sam Vision'. He has been a member of the groups 16 Bit, Astral Pilot, Barbarella, the Essence of Nature, Metal Masters, Mosaic, and Off. Today he is the owner of the 'Cocoon Event Media', which contains his new Label, 'Cocoon Recordings'. He is also the owner of the 'Cocoon Club' in Frankfurt.
Sven Vath epitomises the tag "German global player". His name is inseparable from the German club scene of the nineties. Vath's albums like 'Accident in Paradise' and 'The Harlequin, The Robot, & The Ballet Dancer' are landmarks of contemporary electronic music. His most recent album, 'Contact' which includes the heralded cut 'Your Sweat'. "It is a bridge between the eighties and now" says Vath. "For me, it refers directly to the music bands like DAF did then, without it being all retro, though. For a lot of people, sweat is something quite unsavory. I find dancing sweat very erotic. It means intensity and it's the perfect image for letting go, for succumbing to the mood." German DJ/musician Sven Vath is truly one of the driving forces behind modern electronic music. His label, 'Harthouse', is responsible for unleashing many highly creative artists, including 'SpiceLab', 'Hardfloor', and 'Speedy J'. As a DJ, his legendary marathon sets have received acclaim around the world. Vath creates his own innovative music and his Tripod gig is set to innovate the hell out of the dancefloor.

    Giles Armstrong

Giles Armstrong is one of the leaders of Dublin's techno new school. In a city steeped in the electronic legacies of Detroit, Berlin and Stockholm, Giles' dedication to, love of, and in depth knowledge of underground techno still manages to make him stand out from the crowd.
Although he grew up listening to pop music, Giles always had an ear for electronic sounds and he rates Depeche Mode, Electronic and The Pet Shop Boys among his earlier influences.

As Dublin's club scene exploded in the 90s, Giles started frequenting seminal techno nights like Temple Of Sound and Mars Needs Women and, with occasional trips to The Orbit in Leeds developed his love of underground club techno. Inspired by local heroes like Billy Scurry, Paddy Gallagher and Simon Conway as well as guest DJs like Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Alex Knight and Andrew Weatherall and, armed with records from the now defunct Phuturegroove shop and by 1998, he had secured a slot on respected Dublin pirate radio station Power FM and had started the Punish Techno Show.

Armstrong's regular gigs include,The Electric Picnic, Tripod Dublin, Shine Belfast, Resistance Waterford, Bastardo Electrico Cork and Spastik Galway, while his increased travels have brought him as far as Slovakia and beyond.
