Recording an E.P.

I have been putting together a band that are going to start gigging in the next few months. I want to have an E.P. ready to sell/give out at gigs when we start.

Now, I have a primitive recording capability in my own home, and what I've produced has been of reasonable recording quality (to my ears), but I want something professional sounding.

What I'll need to do, I think, is re-record vocals and other acoustic instruments and drums where needed.

Considering I have all arrangements sorted and will need to only record a small amount - what kind of money would it cost me? I'm on the tightest of budgets, and would need to do it as cheaply as possible.

And if anyone out there feels like taking on the project for very little cash, please PM me.

Read this thread, very similar request came up in the last couple of weeks, though it was for an album. Same answers should apply, but you'll have less to do:

Thanks for replies and Pms guys.

I've had a kind offer from Frobisher to do a song over the next week or so, I'll do that and see where I stand then.

My early efforts can be heard here:

I didn't post it at first because its not exactly what I want to do with the E.P., I have different songs, want a different sound etc. It should give some indication though.

I'll stick up the song I do next week and go from there.

    Hi Jack,

Your name rings a bell. Does anyone remember Rocky Devalera and the grave diggers?

    Good luck with the EP.

This sounds like the kind of thing our own Studio Rat would do a very fine job on.
