Hi, is there any way i could get away with bringing a suitcase (not a particulary huge one) with me interrailing instead of a backpack? I'm only gonna be getting 3 trains, 3 buses, one ferry and 2 internal flights over a month so won't be travelling everyday or anything!!

No harm. I was wishing I brought a suitcase with me last year.

i went inerrailing last year and brought a rucksack but tbh id say you'll be grand with a suitcase. The rucksack was a pain in the ass sometimes! Also looks like you wont be doing huge amounts of travelling so id say you'll be safe! Just make sure its comfortable to wheel around!

It wouldn't be interrailing unless you have the searing pains in your shoulder blades from walking around lost in new cities.

I bleedin HATE rucksacks. A good suitcase will serve you well. I tend to bring a small suitcase (worth spending money on) and a small backpack for ultimate in travel efficiency! Worth bringing less and finding a laundromat half way through your journey to wash everything. Some places will do it for you - we stayed in a small hotel in Italy last year and they washed the contents of both our cases for about €14. And you'll get away with just carry on - on the planes.

yay cool thanks!! so glad that people don't think i'm crazy for bringing a suitcase! I really don't think I'd be able to manage a rucksack..I could barely stand with my one from ****** :O Not gonna get a huge one, prob one that would hold enough clothes for a week..then can wash things!! Thanks for the replies!! :D

edit: not allowed put in o-x-e-g-e-n???
