Can anyone tell me how to tighten the clutch cable on a '00 VW Polo?

I'd rekon its self adjusting. Even my 85 golf is self adjusting.

It's a self adjusting cable, afaik. If you release the tension on the cable by removing the cable you will render it useless. There is a manually adjustable cable available, but it's only as a spare part and not fitted at manufacturing level.

What size engine is in your Polo?

Its a 1.4L, think thats about 1390cc. Have had problems with the gearing before, got the cable adjusted and some welding on the pedal box. Seemed to sort it for a while but its back again. My research tells me the weldings on the pedal boxes on those type Polos have a tendency to break.

if you can get a hold of a gearbox code and an engine code i can probably help you. I have several old haynes manuals for golfs lying around.

A lot of gearboxs were shared between polos, golfs, seat leons, ect.
