What am I doing wrong between my laptop and my HD TV?

I've connected my mac book pro via a DVI out to the HDMI input on my Philips HD 42" LCD (Philips 42PFL7603D/10). But there is a slight delay between the trackpad and the mouse moving on the screen and when there is movement in the image from the laptop certain parts of the image vibrate quickly. Anyone got any thoughts on…

Update: I put the HDMI input I was using onto PC mode et viola. Problem completely fixed.
