    i am looking for some dairy cows / heifers in the north east area seems to be a major shortage any body know of any ?

    like gold dust here in the west, I bought 3 calved monti X heifers & 1 second calver Br FR locally for €6000 with €100 back for luck.

    at 20c/L am I mad ??? better not answer that !!


    All my life I have farmed with the philosophy that you must keep stock numbers both in good & in bad times.

    thier are only two reasons why cows could be so expensive this year

    1. thier is a shortage
    2. thier is no alernative to continuing to milk, no off farm employment available so as bad as milk price is , farmers have little option but to keep at it

    cows are at least 500 euro a head too expensive considering the price of milk
