I went to the shop to buy a pack of AAA batteries for my mouse and they were €11.50.. Last week they were €5.00. How the hell can a pack of batteries cost €11.50?

    Buy rechargables

I can find a pair of rechargeable D's for less than that - you're not looking in the right places.

you sure you buy those really good lithium ones that last 7 times longer or something, cause if so then you got good value

I fúcking hate AAA batteries. They have less power than AAs, cost more and you never have a spare set lying about the place. I've tonnes of AA batteries, but when I need AAAs I don't have any. Bah!

    Rechargeables ftw people.

Don't understand why you would spend that much on batteries, especially as they're just for a mouse.

On Holidays I tried them new lithium batteries in my camera, and no they didn't seem to last any longer than the alkalines

But rechargables just seem to get better all the time, the newer ones hold their charge for much longer too.

Don't buy NiCAD they are toxic and only have 1/3-1/4 the charge of NiHM

    NiMH AA
2000mAhr Aldi 4 for a fiver or wait till they do eight AA's + charger for €20

    Alkaline AA
    http://www.duracell.com/oem/Pdf/MX1500.pdf
If I read this right then if you draw 1/4 A you get a little over 8.5 hours
which works out at 2150 mAh
Which is the same as rechargable

    Lithium AA
    http://data.energizer.com/PDFs/l91.pdf#search=%22AA%20site%3Aenergizer.com%22
this is the lithium ones that give 3000mAh - that's only 1.5 times the alkalines for a lot higher cost

If they were for Li Ion batteries, €11.50 sounds about right.

:D You just got ripped off..like that doesn't happen in Ireland.

Were the batteries gold plated or something, for that price I'd want them to scroll the mouse and do all the clicking automatically.

About €20 in the end as the batteries they sell over need to be replaced every 10 minutes because their so crap and thats not even on a digital camera.
I put two of those batteries in a camera and they died when I pushed the capture button.

If you're looking for AA or AAA batteries your best bet is to invest in
    Low Self Discharge rechargeables
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low_self-discharge_NiMH_battery

Main brand name is Eneloop but I have also bought GP Recyko+
and Gsyuasa Enitime and they all work the same.
