Lessons - Seve Ballesteros School

I'm considering getting lessons and have looked around online a bit.

I'm based in Laois and the Heritage Golf Club http://www.theheritage.com/natural_golf_school.html has the Seve Ballesteros 'natural' school of golf. It looks quite good and they run a 6 lesson offer at €300, which seems pretty reasonable. They also have some half day workshops from €120 or so.

Has anyone had lessons here or know anything about it? Any other recommendations would be much welcomed...

I guess you are looking for "full swing" lessons.

My short game is a mess so are there any good short game teachers?

Check out the David Pelz School located near Dunshaughlin, Co.Meath:

http://www.pelzgolf.com/golfschools/aboutlocation.aspx?location=142&type=Clinic&back=1_Day_Golf_Clinics. 3 hour evening sessions working on short game are €150. Reading his Short Game Bible book at the moment and it's an interesting read.

I would recomend the Seve Natural School, been going there for a few years now. The lads down there keep things straight forward / simple in terms of instruction and the facilities are top of the range.

    Thanks Revilo,
That's exactly what i am looking for... simple!!

Do you know if they have the facilities for video analysis. Haven't had the benefit of those before but it seems like it could be really useful in terms of getting a good image of where you might be going wrong with your swing. Anyone else found this really beneficial?

They have it all, video analysis, explannar, indoor putting green for lessons and full indoor & outdoor range (with grass bays) and a good short game area on top of that. I find it good down there because it is never too crowded like some of the better facilities around.

Right then... I'm off to The Heritage to get myself sorted!!

Thanks for the advice. I see they have a 9 hole practice area as well. Are there fees for using these facilities also or is that just for use for those who are receiving lessons...

Don't think so, you just pay for balls from the vending machine like any other range.

Fair enough if it's the short game they teach, but I can't see people paying much to learn how to hit the driver like Seve :)

Give us a break man, only trying to give someone a bit of advise on my experiences. If the place was s**t I'd say so too. If you can't be bothered accepting that go take a run and jump.

The idea of a forum is that you are allowed post your opinion on previous posts. There is no need to get shirty. I do not know anything about the seve school, i was commenting on the back and forth posting that has a smell of an add campaign about it.

Yes I agree, hence my open and honest opinions on a facilty I have used in the past to practice and take lessons at.

Wow lads... I've no ties to this place either so relax. It's just close by and didn't want to waste my money if it's no use. I've heard elsewhere that the place is very quiet, as in struggling a bit, so i might be able to get me a bargain...

Revilo - thanks for the advice/add (whatever you want to call it)
