    Utterly gutted to see this..

Genuine rugby fans should really just ignore these tickets.. Surely the IRFU would persue this?

very doubtful tbh, considering he/she has had 18 bids.

If you don't mind getting an ebay account possibly being shut down then sure.

I dont understnad why people are panicking for these tickets right now. 83,000 tickets is an awful lot and while it may be difficult to get them i dont see any reason to spend hundreds.

    some people will belive anything.

the guy has up on the description that the semi is sold out... it will be tough to sell it out at all! let alone already when munster fans cant even start buying their tickers till tomorrow!!!

Sent this guy a lovely message on ebay myself. It sickens me that this idiot can source tickets when real fans who love their province both red and blue cant get a sniff. Although hopefully everyone will get sorted out. By the way his reply was something about "west brits" blah blah blah ill get as much as I can etc etc

    Disgraceful.

But how can it be avoided?

I know for some events tickets are monitored on ebay etc and any that are purchased over face value can have their barcodes cancelled by ticketmaster, so when you try to enter the venue with touted tickets the scanning machine can't scan the barcode....not sure when/exactly how this is done or how well it is enforced, but it should be more common imo

well that wouldn't really help as it would be the person who out of desperation bought the ticket and get ripped off that gets screwed instead of the tout.

about trying to stop these guys other than setting up a bunch of accounts and winning the auctions(which could be fairly hard) and then not paying for it. The scumbag could probably relist the tickets too. U might just end up raising the price even higher. So this really isn't a way to stop it.

i know it would fall more on the poor person who bought the touted tickets, but if it was more enforced and there was less chance of you getting in with a ticket you'd bought on ebay etc i think more people would be reluctant to purchase them off online touts. i know it won't end touting (what will?) but it may help curtail bids becoming extortionate and out of control

But is it even legal to sell tickets on eBay for more than face value?

But if it wasn't for the idiot that buys the overprices ticket, there would be no touts! If someone has bid €255 on a ticket that hasn't even gone on sale yet, they deserve to get ripped off. with 83,000 tickets, there's no excuse to spend that money on a ticket

Thats disgraceful. Look at this guy here http://cgi.ebay.ie/2-HEINEKEN-CUP-SEMI-FINAL-TICKETS-MUNSTER-V-LEINSTER_W0QQitemZ300307492864QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Tickets_Tickets_LE?hash=item300307492864&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1298%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 selling 2 tickets now at €485 and another two guys on there selling from the UK currently at €344 and €499. I managed to pick up 2 tickets at €45 for me and my friend but I know lots of other people who wanted tickets and were on ticketmaster when they went on sale but couldn't get any.

There will be plenty of tickets even for the non supporter bandwagon types who don't buy season tickets.
